Are there any planes for Wayland support?

Currently the only backend is fltk, I think fltk already supports wayland with some tweaks. So yes I guess that should be possible. I am building a new native gtk3 backend, but I don't know what it would take to get that working on wayland (I am not a linux developer)

Good to know, why gtk3 and not gtk4?

No particular reason other than I had some examples already of using gtk3 in rust, I guess I could look at gtk4.

Fair, just make sure you use gtk3/4 without adwaita as that has lower compatibility.
