Description of the new feature / enhancement

Instead of launching everything configured, it would be better if it only opened only applications that weren't already open. I don't need a separate instance of things.

Scenario when this would be used?

Maybe something crashed, or this is on startup and some of the applications are open. Having a single keyboard shortcut to get to my starting point without having to deal with potential duplicates and depending on the application to enforce single instance would be nice.

It also would be nice if already open applications just get in the Focus / foreground

With respect to those who have commented, I like how the feature works as it is. I certainly wouldn't say no to another customize option that lets us pick whether to (1) always launch the app in question, or (2) merely bring it to the foreground if it's running.

There is a similar feature implemented in 0.87: #34571.
You can configure your workspace to skip launching apps that are already running and move them to a designated location. Does that meet your needs? /needinfo
